Spirit of Light: We Need Peace

“Let peace continue as long as there is a moon.” Psalm 72:7b (ICB).

Statues toppling over, being smashed, and drug to watery graves…There will be none left at this rate, and the surface reasons for this unruly behavior are: 1) The people represented in these statues are flawed human beings. 2) Today’s narrative: “we are re-establishing our values.” These reasons are flawed because all there are is flawed human beings (which coincidentally are the ones responsible for these narratives).

Clearly, looting, destruction of property, hatred, and chaos; combined with everyone making up their own standards to live by doesn’t work. Why? Because what one person values or cherishes, is subject to destruction if another person doesn’t value, or even feels animosity toward said item or belief.

Our fight is not against people on earth. We are fighting against the rulers and authorities and the powers of this world’s darkness.” Ephesians 6:12. Now for those that believe God is at fault in our current crisis of conscience; “God is not a God of confusion [chaos, hatred, destruction] but a God of peace.” I Corinthians 14:33. Here are the main differences between good and evil: One is Light, the other dark. One brings life, the other death. When you see darkness/evil growing, just remember who the author is, and pray for ways to bring God’s light and peace. And don’t forget this part of your spiritual clothing: “And on your feet wear the Good News of peace to help you stand strong.” Ephesians 6:15.

Spirit of Light, we need peace, so; “I pray that the God who gives hope will fill you with much joy and peace while you trust in Him.” And “may God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ show you kindness and give you peace.” Amen. (Romans 15:13; Romans 1:7).

Blessings of truth and peace,

Jacquie ♥

I am a writer and counselor, who embraces joy and holds tight to hope. I live with my husband Ken, of 44 years, and he is the love of my life. I enjoy inspirational and devotional writing, home decor, gardening, and being in community. My husband and I are missionaries to children in Washington State, and love the privilege of being with them.

  1. Amen, Jacquie. Amen!
Unless we recognize as you’ve said that we are wrestling against principalities; unless we realize at the root of the matter is sin; unless we surrender to the Prince of peace – we will never have peace.

    1. Amen, Dee! I’m praying for God’s light to shine on this present darkness, so people can see the truth. God is love and God is Light, the true author of our peace. May the blessings of His Light, Life, and Peace remain with you and your household 🙏💞

  2. I love this. Peace is so needed. Sometimes it is a fight, but like you say, the fight isn’t against each other. It’s not “me” vs. “you”. It’s “me & you” vs. “the problem”.
