Be True

There is great strength and stability for those who walk in singleness of heart. In order to be true in all you do, your heart/mind cannot be divided. For James 1:8, tells us that a double-minded man [or woman], is unstable in all their ways. (KJV).

The best way to walk in singleness of mind, is to know the truth; “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” John 8:32 (NIV). However, before we can walk in this truth, we need to look at verse 31;

To the Jews who had believed Him, Jesus said, “If you hold to My teaching, you are really my disciples.”

So, we need to walk out (hold to) the truth that we know; for applying His Truth in our lives knits us to the heart of our Father. For we know that God is Love, and God is Truth. The Word, God’s truth, comes with instruction and benefit: Speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. Ephesians 4:15 (NIV). His Truth is the plumb line that will keep us upright come what may. Be sure to receive God’s truth at every moment. Let it grow in your heart through application (in deed and speach), then you will be enabled to be true in all you do.

Dear Father,

Thank you for understanding my great need for your truth. Help me to desire Your truth at every opportunity today. And may I grow in the ability to be true to You in all I do. Amen.

  1. Thanks sister Jacquie for this encouragement and the prayer. We must have truth to survive the dark deception that is in the world. That truth we need is only found in Jesus Christ! He is Truth. He is our Light. We must seek Him each day. ❤️

    1. Absolutely, Dawn. I know that the truth can be painful even difficult at times, but that just lets me know that if I want the freedom that comes with truth, I need to submit to its Author. Thankful am I that He loves us too much to leave us before His work in us is done. Blessings on your Sabbath ♥
